1. Nature of the Service

AskFredd is an AI-powered informational tool that provides general educational content about psychiatric conditions, medications, mental health research, and related topics. The service is designed to help users access publicly available scientific information in an organized and understandable format.

2. Not Medical Advice

The information provided by AskFredd does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or professional consultation of any kind. The content should never be used as a substitute for professional medical judgment. Always seek the advice of your physician, psychiatrist, or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

3. AI Limitations

AskFredd uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information (“hallucinations”). While we strive to use validated scientific sources and implement rigorous safety guardrails, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any AI-generated content. Users should always verify information with authoritative sources.

4. No Diagnosis or Prescription

AskFredd will never provide personal diagnoses, prescribe medications, recommend specific dosages for individual use, or suggest changes to existing treatment plans. Any attempt to obtain such information will be declined with a referral to consult a qualified healthcare professional.

5. Emergency Situations

6. Privacy & Data

AskFredd does not require registration and does not store your personal data in a profile. Conversations are session-based only and are not retained after the browser session ends. We do not sell user data or use it for targeted advertising. In addition to essential cookies, only with your explicit consent we use a behaviour-analytics tool (SiteBehaviour) to improve the site and its interface: it is disabled by default and you can enable or withdraw it at any time from the cookie preference centre. The only exception is the content reporting feature: if a user voluntarily chooses to report a problematic response, the content of the question, the response and any additional description provided by the user are sent via email to the AskFredd team for review. The report does not collect any personally identifiable information (name, email, IP address). For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Sources & Attribution

AskFredd references information from recognized scientific and institutional sources including PubMed/NCBI, WHO, NIMH, APA, DSM-5, ICD-11, AIFA, EMA, FDA, Cochrane Library, and other reputable medical databases. Source citations are provided when available, but users should always access original publications for complete information.

8. Limitation of Liability

AskFredd and its operators shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use this service. Users accept full responsibility for how they use the information provided.
